Dharma Studio Yoga
in Coconut Grove

Dharma Studio Yoga:
Loree Shrager & I opened this
studio in the heart of Coconut Grove in Janurary, and it has
slowly been growing into a friendly neighborhood Yoga
Sanctuary.
Classes:
I
teach five times a week, three Funyasa (Mon & Wed at 6p,
Tues, Thurs & Sat at 10.30a), plus Yoga Nidra Class on Thurs
at 7.45p.
Parking:
Don’t be afraid, just because
you know this studio is in the heart of the Grove. The
difficulty of parking in the Grove is largely a myth.
Metered parking is ample, and you’ll find Park & Pay spaces
and several garages within walking distance.

The Yoga Room in South Beach
841 Lincoln Rd. (at Brownes & Co., 2nd floor)

The Yoga Room:
A beautiful studio, the only one on Lincoln Road. You'll
find it accross from the Van Dyke, at Jefferson Avenue. On
the way to the studio, you get to go through Brownes & Co.,
a provocative cosmetics and beauty-supply boutique.
Upstairs, past the full-service salon, you'll find the Yoga
Room. The studio is big and bright, with plenty of windows
and wall space for practicing all your favorite balancing
poses.
Classes:
I teach Funyasa Yoga once a week here, on Mondays from
10-11.30a. This class is especially fun because the
students often include dancers from the Miami City Ballet,
and entertainers from cruise ships docked at the port of
Miami.
Parking:
Automated street parking is available, depending on the hour
and barring any local events, festivals or protests. If all
else fails, there is a parking lot on Jefferson (near Alton
Rd).

Sports
Club LA in Brickell
1441 Brickell Ave. (Four Season's Hotel 4th Fl)

Sports Club LA: Everyone
knows this is a swank members-only club in the Four Seasons
on Brickell. It’s one of my favorite places to teach for
many reasons. The hotel itself is gorgeous, their art
collection is totally stimulating, the staff at the Club is
fun-loving and the students always show up in a venturesome
mood. We just started this class up again after a little
hiatus, and it’s gonna get more and more fun as time goes
on.
Class: Friday Night Funyasa is back at the Sports Club
LA! I’m teaching once a week here, on Fridays from 6-7.15p.
Parking: The Club is on the 4th floor of the Four
Seasons Hotel. Either you painfully valet your car
downstairs, or you park in the garage. If you self-park
under the building, take the garage elevator to the third
floor, then walk the skybridge over to the hotel and find
your way to the fourth floor. Members can validate their
parking at the front desk.

Waalay
in Key Biscayne
911 Crandon Blvd (In the L'Esplanade Plaza)
Waalay: An
unexpectedly beautiful yoga studio on Key Biscayne in the
sleepy L’Esplanade Plaza. This is Key Biscayne’s first and
only studio dedicated to Yoga and Wellness. Waalay founders
Miriam Mengotti and Maria Erhardt have brought fresh life to
this forgotten mall at the far tip of the Key.
Class: I lead one Yoga
Nidra session a week, on Tuesday nights from 7.30-8.45p.
The studio is beautiful and the setting is very relaxing.
Those factors are a perfect combination for this kind of
class. For more details, please look at the
Yoga Nidra description
Parking: Follow
Crandon Blvd South, almost all the way down to Bill Baggs
Park. You’ll see L’Esplanade on your left, pass it and take
the first left to turn into the underground parking garage.
You’ll feel better if you park near the staircases, and
avoid the small strange elevators.

Sunrise Yoga in North Beach
73rd Street & Ocean
(Behind the Bandshell)

North Beach: Just like last
summer, I'll be leading a free Sunrise Yoga class in North
Beach on Fridays, from 7-8a. Last year we had such positive
feedback that the program has been continued, courtesy of
the North Beach Bandshell Trust, a group that promotes
family-friendly programs at the Bandshell.
Classes:
Class will be held in the Sand Bowl (the
volleyball court directly behind the 73rd St
Bandshell on Collins Ave.) We’ll meet every Friday this
summer, weather permitting.
I’ll teach in English and Spanish, and all
levels are welcome. So grab your sunscreen, something to
drink and a big towel, and please join us!
Parking:
Luckily, at this hour there is plenty of parking available,
and the meters don’t start working until 9a.
